<p>The ski testing equipment permits checking of the release mechanism when the ski is strapped on. The skier, with skis in place, places himself in the testing bay so that each ski rests on an individual support rail. The rails are parallel and separated by a central, raised bar which provides stops to prevent sideways movement. End stops ensure that the skis are correctly positioned. The platforms may be raised or lowered individually and their angle of slope can also be adjusted to facilitate handling of the straps, etc. by the skier. The supports are raised by a hydraulic or pneumatic lifting mechanism. Various retainers and tension-measuring devices are fitted so that the toe and heel fastenings can be checked.</p> |
