<p>A zither for music accompaniment has a keyboard. It can play the complete range of harmony of twelve semitones. It can be used by a left-handed or a right-handed player. The zither has each key in free contact with a beam. When a key is pressed, the beam releases strings which can be plucked. The beam is pressed, the beam releases strings which can be plucked. The beam then returns to its original position by means of a spring and the strings are damped out. A rod passing through each key limits the movement of the keys. The instrument is symmetrical and has a cover over the frets.</p> |
