The phials 19 are carried by a turntable 6 having a stepping movement, at each step of which an impulse is applied to the turntable so that it oscillates about its central axis before coming to rest. In this way the sample is agitated. As shown, the turntable is rotated by a motor 14, and the impulses are applied by the action of two pairs of rotational pulses in the drive of the motor 14.</p> |
