The support platform for the camera or projector has a stepped shape with an upper reach (30) to which the camera is bolted using securing screws (52) as for tripod mounting. The lower reach (10) holds an extending flap (40) which is pulled out to prevent the camera from tipping onto its lens when long and heavy lenses are fitted. The flap is secured by a spring-loaded ratchet inside the lower reach, and has its lower surface flush with the lower surface of the assembly. The rear edge of the upper reach is raised (20) to form a locating edge for the camera body, while the securing screw (52) is threaded on the underside to bolt onto a tripod if required.
