The control light (10) for the vehicle lights is mounted on the dashboard and connected between the headlamp supply (4) and the tailight line (2). If the main lighting switch is in the parking lights position, then the control light is earthed through the non-lit headlamp filaments (7, 8). If the headlamp settling (II) is set on the switch (3) and the ignition switch closed (5) then the control light is set between two equal potentials and goes out. If the fog lamp is switched on then the control light is switched off in any setting of the main light switch. The circuit gives the driver a clear indication if he leaves the sidelights switched on with the ignition switched off.
