<p>In a niche above the level of the drum's horizontal axis of rotation is a heater and a fan to blow the hot air against the drum surface. The niche is so shaped that the hot air, after heating the drum surface, returns immediately to the heater and fan. An axial fan may be used, with its fan blades between the heater and the drum, or a radial fan with the heater surrounding it, or a tangential fan with the heater beside it. The water removed from the clothes is pref. condensed at a condensation surface (pref. a film of water) below the level of the drum axis. System combines the advantages of the hot-air and heated-drum methods.</p> |
