摘要 1516008 Coke manufacture NIPPON KOKAN KK 29 Sept 1976 [23 Oct 1975] 40406/76 Heading C5E High strength metallurgical coke is prepared by cabonizing green composite briquettes formed by covering an inner core material comprising blended raw material coal fines having a maximum fluidity of 20 dial divisions per minute (d.d.p.m.-see ASTM D2639-74) with an outer envelope material comprising coal fines having a maximum fluidity of at least 30 d.d.p.m. and an A.P. index of at least 70% or bituminous material having a C/H ratio of from 0À7 to 1À9, and having a covering thickness of from 0À5 to 10 mm. The inner coal fines preferably have a particle size of at most 1À5 mm. Preferred bituminous materials for use as the outer envelope are coal tar, coal tar pitch, emulsified coal tar pitch, asphalt, asphalt debituminized by propane, asphalt heat-treated under a hydrogen atmosphere or emulsified asphalt. It is preferred to first form the inner core material by mixing the coal fines with a binder and forming the mixture into briquettes or pellets and then covering the surface of the inner core with the coal fines or dipping the inner core into the bituminous material which has been rendered liquid or spraying the liquefied bituminous material onto the surface of the inner core. Carbonization takes place in a conventional horizontal coke oven battery.
