Sound attenuating ventilator for double glazed rooms - has hot water radiator in acoustically lined air passage with deflector plate

A room with double glazed windows to exclude outside noise has a ventilator to admit fresh air without the entry of noise. The ventilator has a casing (11) which is bolted onto the inside of an external wall (1) over an opening (1) in the wall. A small propeller fan (8) is placed in the opening which is covered by an inlet grille (3). The casing has an internal partition (23) which deflects the air to flow vertically downwards and then vertically upwards before reaching the inside of the room. The partition has an acoustic lining (22). A radiator (25) is included at the lowest part of the ventilator within the air stream. This tempers the ventilation air discharged into the room to prevent cold draughts.
