1461129 Oxymethylene polymer moulding composition HOECHST AG 4 Oct 1974 [8 Oct 1973] 43208/74 Heading C3P [Also in Division C2] A moulding composition comprises (a) an oxymethylene polymer and (b) up to 5% of a hydroxyphenyl (ureido)-s-triazine, preferably of the formula where R<SP>1</SP> is H, NR<SP>3</SP> 2 , alkyl, alkoxy, phenyl or phenoxy, each of which may be substituted by OH or NR<SP>3</SP> 2 where R<SP>3</SP> is H or alkyl, and R<SP>2</SP> is H, OH, alkyl, alkoxy or phenyl. Component (b) acts as both a heat stabilizing agent and as a nucleating agent. The examples refer to the preparation of films from compositions of (a) a trioxanethylene oxide copolymer and (b) 2,6- bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)-4-ureido-s-triazine, and 2- (2 - hydroxyphenyl) - 6 - methyl - 4 - ureido - striazine. |
