<p>A system of solenoid valves controlled by a float switch in the humidifier unit together with a metering pump directly actuated by the main feed-water flow is used to add softening agents to the water in the boiler, which is fed in alternatively with extraction hases. The softeners used may be organic or inorganic acids or their salts esp. of alkali metals more esp. of Na. together with anti-foaming agents and these may be in stoichiometric or super-stoichiometric concns. or in certain cases in sub-stoichiometric concs.</p> |
