Parallel bars with retractable wheels on base - has wheels lowered by hand lever and pusher rods and swivelling in pairs in axle boxes

In order to ease the transportation of heavy sports equipment, such as parallel bars, its base frame (12) includes retractable wheels (23). Each corner of the base frame locates a pair of wheels which is mounted inside an axle box (15) that is able to swivel about a vertical axis. A hand lever (58) which has a pivot location near the centre of the base frame has a push rod connection with each axle box (15). When the hand lever is pulled upwards, the pusher rods extend outwards. This causes the wheel assemblies to be lowered, thus the heavy parallel bars can be pushed about without excessive effort.
