<p>The spiral staircase consists of a central column which receives sleeves each carrying a step. Each sleeve consists of an outer element with projections on its inner surface, and an inner element having cut-outs on one end to bear on the projections. Relative rotation of the sleeve elements varies the height of the associated step, a locking device being provided to hold the desired position.</p> |
