1526078 Reciprocating pumps and motors MONO PUMPS Ltd 23 Sept 1976 [24 Sept 1975] 39054/75 Heading F1A [Also in Division F2] In a swash-plate pump, motor or I.C. engine comprising a cylinder block 1 with axial pistons 9 engaging a swash-plate 8 of fixed or adjustable inclination, hydrostatic bearing - forming recesses 11b, 13a and 14a are provided on the pistons for supporting slippers 11 and contacting the cylinder bores, and recesses 19, 21 are provided on the housing and swash-plate, for supporting the cylinder block, which as shown is rotatable but may alternatively be stationary, the swash-plate then being rotatable. Liquid is supplied to the bearing recesses either from the working chambers or from a separate source. Slippers 11 are supported hydrostatically on swash-plate 8 by liquid entering the slippers from recesses 11b via apertures 11a. A ring 23 with seals 24, 25 and 26 supports cylinder block 1 and its replaceable wear plate 28 against housing 6 and ported distributing valve member 3. In Fig. 3 (not shown), ring 23 is replaced by a hydrostatic bearing arrangement on a flange (57) of the cylinder block, and piston springs 10 are replaced by applying working liquid pressure to a stepped surface (9a) of each piston via a check value (52) and passage (53) in the drive-shaft (4). |
