Diverting station for workpieces on conveyor system - has rotating guide disc mounted at conveyor junction and formed with peripheral recesses to engage vertical carriers

The work pieces are displaced at the diverting station onto a receiving conveyor. The work pieces are mounted on supports (2) which are at least partly guided by side walls (1a, 1b, 3a, 3b) of the respective conveyors (1, 13). Each support is fitted with a centrally positioned vertical carrier (10). Above the belt conveyor (1, 3) is a guide disc (5) rotating parallel with the conveyor belt plane. The disc has U-shaped recesses (6a, 6b) dimensioned to accommodate a carrier (10). During rotation of the disc (5), its recess (6a, 6b) engages the carrier (10) of the work piece support and its cylindrical surface at each side of the recess (6a, 6b) forms a stop for a following work piece support.
