The device has a pneumatic working cylinder (1) with a piston (3) with a pushrod (5) on the side remote from the working chamber (2). A control cylinder (6) is arranged on the pneumatic working cylinder (1). In the control cylinder (6) is a control piston (8) which divides the chamber of the control cylinder (6) into a control chamber (45) and an equalising chamber (38) which are connected to one another. In the control piston (8) is a chamber (11) which is connected on the one hand via a bore (12) leading through the end wall of the control piston (8) to the control chamber (45), and on the other via an opening (42) leading through the end wall of the control piston (8) to an inlet opening (40) of the control piston (8) introducing the compressed air. Around the bore (12) leading through the end wall of the control piston (8) from the chamber (11) a valve seat (13) is formed, which is closed by a sealing element (15) loaded by a filling valve spring (14). The control piston (8) is operationally connected to the piston (3). In the end wall (16) of the control chamber (45) lying opposite the control piston (8) is a bore (17) in which a sealed-moving blow-off pipe (18) is arranged with a valve seat (20) at the end extending into the control chamber (45), in front of which valve seat the sealing element (21) of the venting valve is arranged. The sealing elements (15, 21) are operationally connected to one another. The internal chamber (51) of the blow-off pipe (18) is connected to the environment. The blow-off pipe (18) is loaded by a spring (23) in a direction counter to the sealing element (21) of the venting valve and is operationally connected to an electro-magnet (24). <IMAGE>
