<p>Piece goods, esp. woven fabrics, etc., pref. of synthetic fibres or mixts. of natural and synthetic fibres, are densified by means of a dry heat treatment in which the goods are run vertically downwards under gravity, through the processing installation, the goods being exposed at the outset to the highest temperature possible without causing damage to the fabric. Method eliminates the friction between goods and conveyors in horizontal processing installations, so that the densifying is uniform both lengthways and across the width.</p> |
