1525555 Substituted 2-phenylimino-thiazolines BAYER AG 25 April 1977 [28 April 1976] 17093/77 Heading C2C Novel substituted 2-phenylimino-thiazolines having the general formula: wherein R 1 is (C 1-6 ) alkyl or (C 3-6 ) cycloalkyl, R 2 and R 3 are independently hydrogen, (C 1-6 ) alkyl or halogen, and R 4 is (C 1-6 ) alkyl, together with acid addition salts thereof, are prepared by reacting a substituted phenylthiourea of the general formula: with a halogenoacetaldehyde or with a compound that eliminates a halogenoacetaldehyde. The reaction is suitably effected in the presenceof a solvent at a temperature of from 0‹ to 150‹ C. and in the presence of an acid-binding agent. The novel compounds may be used as ecto parasiticides. The intermediates of Formula II are suitably prepared either by (i) reacting a substituted phenylisothiocyanate of the formula: with an alkylamine of the formula: H 2 N-R 4 , or (ii) by reacting a nuclear-substituted aniline derivative of the formula: with an alkylisothiocyanate of the formula: SCN-R 4 . |
