The servo assisted dry plate clutch is operated by a control lever driven by a servo controlled by a simple solenoid. The operation of the gear lever is interlocked with the solenoid. The solenoid is also activated by an impulse control to disengage the clutch when the engine speed drops to idling and prevents the engine from stalling. The absence of a mechanical centrifugal switch enables the servo and its control to be mounted anywhere in the engine compartment. The servo control can be fitted to all types of existing vehicles.
