<p>Thermoplastic sections are produced continuously by a machine having an externally cooled mould with heated ram attached to a traverse so as to fill the mould from an extruder, a mould ejector with hydraulic cylinder to move the traverse along the mould axis and with friction shoes which are moved against the product by a second cylinder; the ejector has a slide connected via columns to the traverses which are moved on those columns along the mould axis by additional hydraulic cylinders, these cylinders press the friction shoes on the slide, other cylinders move the traverse on the slide or on the traverse and the piston rods of the last cylinders are connected to the columns which act as tie rods. Highly efficient ejection is achieved by withdrawal and not pressure; good quality products are formed.</p> |
