A body with a surface having selective spectral properties comprises an external layer of pigment powder mechanically fixed to the low emission surface of a support. The layer itself has a high solar energy absorption capacity and is largely transparent to the thermal radiation emitted by the surface of the support. Alternatively the pigment layer is fixed to the support by means of a binder comprising liquid or solid paraffin and/or polyethylene. Used as a solar energy collector. The process allows the surfaces to be cheaply and reproducibly mfd. The surfaces have the radiation absorption capacity of a normal black surface but have less than one thir dof the emissive capacity of the latter. Use of binder is optional. |
