1504224 Implement drives SPERRY RAND CORP 14 Sept 1976 [15 Sept 1975] 37963/76 Heading A1P The driveline 38 for an agricultural machine is supported on the machines draw bar 14 by a mounting 12 which allows the driveline to move laterally of the draw bar against a resilient bias when the tractor is at a sharp turning angle relative to the machine. The front part 46 of the driveline has two universal joints 56, 58 spaced either side the draw bar connection 33. A U-shaped member 142 supports the driveline to the rear of joint 58 and is secured to an arm 108 fixed to a pivot 90 mounted in a sleeve 82 rigidly secured to the draw bar by means of two brackets 64, 62 adjustable relative one to the other. The pivot 90 is biassed by spring 104 to hold arm 108 against top plate 74 of bracket 64 and the arm, and hence the driveline, is normally held in position by detent balls 116 and two springs 122 acting on either side of the pivot on a flange attached to the pivot. The arm 108 is moved against these biassing forces only when the front shaft 46 collapses sufficiently to act as a rigid shaft during a sharp turning movement of the tractor. |
