<p>Acrylic resin-laminated metal sheets, contg. an acrylic resin laminated onto a vinyl chloride resin-laminated metal sheet, contain vinyl chloride resin having 100% modulus 0.5-1.5 kg/sq.mm. The acrylic resin component is prepd. (1) from (A) 10-50pts., as polymer solids, of a crosslinking, elasticating emulsion consisting, by wt., of 100-70% 1-8C-alkyl acrylate, 0-30% 1-4C-alkyl methacrylate and opt. 0-20% olefinic co-monomer. The monomers are copolymerised to gel content 60% or more, degree of swelling less than 15% and average particle size 500-2000 Angstrom. (2) 5-40 pts.wt. monomer mixt. of a 1st resin component (B) is additionally copolymerised. (B) consists of 40-90% 1-8C-alkyl acrylate, 60-10% 1-4C-alkyl methacrylate, opt. 0-20% other olefinic co-monomer and 0-30% crosslinking monomer. 85-10 pts.wt. monomer mixt. of a 2nd resin component (C) is then additionally copolymerised. (C) consists of 100-60% 1-4C-alkyl methacrylate, 0-30% 1-8C-alkyl acrylate and opt. 0-10% further olefinic co-monomer. The degree of crosslinking of (B) and (C) on (A) is 40-70%. The laminates resist discolouration under processing stress and have high resistance to corrosion and weathering.</p> |
