1471120 Maleimidomethyl cyclopropane carboxylates SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO Ltd 27 Nov 1975 [5 Dec 1974] 48882/75 Heading C2C Novel maleimidomethyl cyclopropanecarboxylates of general formula wherein R 1 is H, CH 3 , F, Cl or Br; R 2 is F, Cl or Br and R 3 and R 4 are each independently H, C 1-3 alkyl, C 2-3 alkenyl, C 2-3 alkynyl, optionally alkyl or halo-substituted aryl or an aralkyl group, are prepared by reacting an alcohol, halide or arylsulphonate of general formula in which A is -OH, halogen or arylsulphoxy, with an acid of general formula or a reactive derivative thereof, e.g. halide, salt or anhydride. Amongst numerous examples the compounds 2 - methyl - 3 - ethylmaleimidomethyl - 2<SP>1</SP>,2<SP>1</SP> - dimethyl - 31 - (2 - bromovinyl)- cyclopropanecarboxylate and 2 - methyl - 3- (m-methylphenyl) - maleimido - methyl - 2<SP>1</SP>,2<SP>1</SP>- dimethyl - 3<SP>1 </SP>- (2,2 - difluorovinyl)cyclopropane carboxylate are prepared. Pesticidal compositions comprise a compound of Formula I as active ingredient together with an inert carrier. |
