<p>The system measures and regulates the thread tension at the shuttle of an embroidering, stitching or sewing machine. The thread is extracted by friction from the shuttle and is loaded by an adjustable leaf spring on it, and the tension is measured by a force acting on the thread at right angles to its travel direction. The return force exerted by the thread represents the actual tension, which is compared with a desired value. During rectification the thread tension is continuously measured and the discrepancy between actual and desired values is used to regulate the frictional force exerted by the leaf spring on the thread.</p> |
