The water insulating stage is cooled by means of cooling coils positioned in the base mounting and through which a coolant flows. The base mounting has a base-plate with a vertical neck having a cooling duct. The cooling coils surround the duct inside the base-plate and/or neck. The coolant pipe for the coils has positioned in it a valve which is controlled according to the temp. on the insulator housing or the flow rate of the cooling water flowing through the channel of the insulator.
