The appts. takes samples, at regular intervals of a liquid or granular solid or powder product flowing continuously in a pipe. The product (1) flows in the pipe (2) under gravity or by displacement by a conveyor (3). The appts. has a wheel rotationally mounted in a plane inclined to the horizontal. The wheel penetrates the pipe during its rotation through a window (5) in one of its lateral vertical walls (6). The wheel is mounted on a pivot (7) on a support (8) fixed to the upper part of the pipe and rotates around an axis xx'. The wheel has a hollow central hub (9) with a bearing (11) and an interior chamber (12) into which open radial channels formed inside tubular spokes (14) which are distributed regularly around the wheel. Near the end of each spoke is a sampling orifice. Each time a spoke penetrates the product during rotation of the wheel it is filled with a predetermined elementary quantity of the product through the orifice corresp. to the internal volume defined by the orifice and its distance from the end of the spoke. As the wheel continues to rotate the spoke rises and the sample flows through the radial channel into the chamber. From the chamber the sample falls through a spout (17) into a collecting receptacle (18). The product is thus sampled at regular intervals.
