Wheel elevator with buckets in ring - has bucket cutting edges at alternating radii from centre

The bucket-wheel elevator has the bucket arranged in a ring, those (2) with cutting edges further from the wheel centre alternating with those (3) whose edges are closer to it. The edges can be situated at one of two radii from the centre, and there can be ten buckets evenly spaced round the periphery. There can be two coaxially-mounted wheels, the first being as described above, while the radius of the cutting edges on the second are in no case greater than any of those of the first. The elevator pivots with the first wheel leading. Alternatively the two wheels can be similar.
