PURPOSE:To make image forming procedures efficient and to make compensation and interruption for jam possible by controlling switching of carrying to an image forming means in accordance with the image forming mode to a transfer material in the device provided with various mechanisms. CONSTITUTION:In an automatic double-face copying machine 1, the image of an original on an original platen 19 is transferred onto the transfer material and is formed on the surface of this material and is fixed. Thereafter, the transfer material is distributed and guided to one of the path, where an image is formed on the reverse face, and the path, where the transfer material is ejected to the outside of the machine, by a switching guide 39. The image is formed on the reverse face of the transfer material which is guided to the path where images are formed on both faces, and the transfer material is not stored in an intermediate tray 9 but is carried toward a pair of rollers 34 directly. |
