The edging machine is used in the production of boxes. A separating device is capable of picking up that section of the first sheet to be edged or folded and at least partially separating from the second sheet lying below it. An edging or folding device can be moved between a first position outside the stack of sheets and a second position in which it is slid between the separated part of the first sheet and the second sheet. This edging or folding device can also be moved along and coinciding with the edging or folding track of the said sheet section.
