Multicore paper insulated telecommunication cable moisture protection - uses capillary system inside cable, containing water repellent filler

The telecommunication cables with substantially a paper insulation for the multiple cores, is protected against moisture by incorporating a capillary system using hollow spaces inside the cable. The wetting angle is greater than 90 deg.. For the capillary system, a porous strip may be used and it can be soaked or sprayed with a water repellant substance. The capillary system may contain a filler with a patrol base and this can be mixed with fibres or other filler material.
