1502814 Coil taping device METEOR AG 23 April 1975 [23 April 1974] 16791/75 Heading B8G A device for applying adhesive tape to a wire coil comprises a carrier, a support mounted on the carrier and movable between an operative and an inoperative position and having a pressure member for urging the tape against a coil in the operative position of the support, a tape-transporting slide slidable on the support between two limiting positions in a direction transverse to the direction of movement of the support, means on the slide for pulling adhesive tape towards one of the limiting positions, said means being movable relative to the slide as the slide moves towards the other of the limiting positions, drive means for moving the slide, and tape cutting means movable on a path which extends transversely of the direction of slide movement and between one of the limiting positions and the pressure member. To wind tape K, Fig. 3, on coil 14, support 60 is pivoted about pivot 13 so that support foot 11 presses the tape against the rotated coil. Before or during winding, jack 15 moves a slide on the support 60 to the left so that slide roller 19 rolls anti-clockwise on and above the tape. Jack 20 pivots knife 22 about pivot 13 to cut the tape. When the tape is wound, support 60 is pivoted to the dotted-line position, and the slide is automatically slid rightwards and roller 19, locked against clockwise rotation, advances further tape to foot 11. The coils 14 are mounted on a turret table. Tape K, Fig. 2, is withdrawn from reel 3 by intermittently driven, knurled roller 2, passed over rollers 8 and passed to a stationary cylindrical surface 9 which turns the tape through 90 degrees so that it runs to foot 11. Roller 2a, moved by a pneumatic jack, creates a tape reserve.
