The cigar boring tool has a cylindrical sleeve (10) inside which slides telescopically and end cap (28) so as to force a threaded boring spindle downwards so that it pierces the end of a cigar inserted into the open mouth of the sleeve. The spindle is guided by a strip (19) which passes through a slot (17) each side of the sleeve. The strip has an opening through it, shaped so that projecting edges engage the threads of the spindle, causing it to rotate as it is pushed down against a spring. A ball bearing inside the top reduces friction against the top of the spindle. The strip acts as a finger grip. The opening may be formed by two or three overlapping circles, heaving projecting points which fit into the threads.
|
