<p>The mechanism is for use with a wheeled or tracked vehicle, there being one or more hydrostatic units driving onto each side, and has a slide frame in parallel guides inside a housing. A control lever is attached to the front of the slide, and there are two sets of links between the slide and the variable-output hydraulic pumps supplying the travel motors, the links pivoting on the rear end of the slide. A lever is fixed to each set of links and rotates with them, having a roller working in a slot in a rotary control member in the housing. On negotiating a curve, a steering lever rotating in the housing bears against an arm fixed to one of the other of the roller-ended levers.</p> |
