PURPOSE:To display routes of the shortest time, the shortest distance and the lowest fuel cost out of a plurality of routes from a start point to a target point by computing a required time, a running distance and a fuel cost with respect to each section and by storing them as a data base for each run. CONSTITUTION:Taking each crossing of a plurality of routes as a boundary, a signal processing device 16 computes a required time, a running distance and a fuel cost for each section between crossings and stores them as a data base for each run, and on the basis of these data, the retrieval of a route of the shortest time, a route of the shortest distance and a route of the lowest fuel cost is enabled. The results of retrieval are displayed 10 and selected by a touch panel switch 11. When the retrieval of a running route is selected, the device 16 makes CRT 10 display a selected picture of each menu of the route of the shortest time, the route of the shortest distance and the route of the lowest fuel cost. When the route of the shortest time is selected, for instance, the device 16 computes the route of the shortest time on the basis of the registered data base and makes the CRT 10 display the route. By running along the displayed route, accordingly, a driver can reach a target point in the shortest time from a start point. |
