The pneumatically operated actuator unit has two part elements of smaller sizes, interconnected so that a superposing of force and travel results. The unit consists of capsule-shaped part elements, with an element (1) fixed to a wall. Each capsule element contains a diaphragm, resting on supporting discs (4, 7). he capsule element (1) has an air connection (20) and venting connection (19). The two capsules are connected by two concentric hollow rods (9, 10) fitted rigidly to supporting discs by their ends. The two adjacent capsule housing walls fit slidingly on the outer hollow rod (9) with an airtight seal (17).
