PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter having three colored pixels and laminated photo-spacers and constituted so that two of three photomasks are integrated, and to provide a method for producing the color filter. SOLUTION: Three colored pixels having the same shape are arrayed repeatedly and four kinds of six laminated photo-spacers are arrayed repeatedly. When each color dot pattern has an arbitrary shape, the size of the color dot pattern is represented by P1>P2>P3 and three colors are represented by R, G and B, a main laminated photo-spacer is represented by P1R, P3G and P2B, a first sub laminated photo-spacer is represented by P1R and P2B, a second sub laminated photo-spacer is represented by P2R and P1G and a third sub laminated photo-spacer is represented by P2G and P1B.
