<p>The sorting device for granular materials comprises a cylindrical housing (1), an inlet (2) for feeding fluid into the base of the housing which produces an upwardly aligned vortex current towards an outlet opening (3) at the top of the housing (1) and a supply mechanism (19) which feeds the particulate material into the upwardly aligned current. A rotory slide member (5) is mounted near the top of the housing to separate the coarse particles from the fine with the latter being drawn off through the outlet opening (3). A further rotary slide member (8) is mounted above the inlet (2) and has several radial nozzles (6) which send jets of fluid towards the inner wall of the housing. Several guide plates (25, 26) are mounted near the inlet (2) to provide an even guide for the coarse particles as they fall down along the inner wall of the housing so that they are not taken up by the vortex. These coarse particles are drawn off through an outlet (4) at the bottom of the housing (1).</p> |
