Storage and transport of liquefied gases - using prefabricated concrete sections with reinforcement rods and insulating lining

Storage or transport of low b.pt. liquidified gases consists of an outer shell of frost resistant concrete with a layer of thermal insulation. The outer shell is made up of prefabricated components which are joined together and can then be dismantled. A vapour barrier in the form of a metal sheet is attached to the sheel by cleets and is at least partially wrapped around the edges of the sections. The insulation covers the individual sections with a small excess. The base and cover are dished with a curvature falling into the pressure generated by the low b.pt. liquid. Between the components a seal is mounted. Used for storage and transport of low b.pt. liquids esp. liquified gases. Esp. for use with natural gas where quantities are required to supplement peak demands and ease temporary redn. in supply.
