<p>PURPOSE:To enable supply of large current to consumable electrode by providing at least two electrode masts having an electrode ascending/descending device and one mold and electrically connecting with a consumable electrode, rotary contactor and slide contactor. CONSTITUTION:Operation of electro-slag remelting (ESR) is executed by shifting one side of a truck 81 to the ESR operating position and connecting a lower electrode pole 37 with an upper electrode pole 36. The consumable electrode 70 is held with a stringer rod 52, and while supplying electricity, this is inserted into the mold 20 and the ascending/descending device 14 is descended corresponding to consumption of the electrode to execute melting operation. An ingot is drawn from the lower part. In the case of consuming the electrode, this is exchanged with the other electrode B to succeed the operation. The current is supplied from an electric power source to an electric supply pole 31 and reached to the rotary contactor 60 from the slide contactor 40 through a connecting conduct plate 32 and further, reached to the stringer rod 52 through a connecting conduct plate 35 and supplied to the consumable electrode 70. By this method, impedance is made small compared with the water cooled cable and the current efficiency can be improved.</p> |
