1500805 Chucks EQUIPEMENTS DE MACHINES-OUTILS SPEMO 20 Jan 1975 [1 Feb 1974] 2465/75 Heading B3B A chuck for a machine tool, either rotary or fixed, comprises a body 6 in which clamping jaws 14 are radially guided, an axially displaceable slider carrier 8 movable in a bore 7 by a draw-tube 4, cylindrical sliders 16 carried by the carrier 8, and wherein the sliders 16 are provided with lateral flats to form projecting male ramps which engage in inclined female ramps 17 of the jaws 14. When connected to a rotary spindle, e.g. of a lathe, the draw-tube 4 is connected to a rotating double acting fluid pressure actuator (3) (Fig. 1, not shown). The jaws 14 have serrated front faces and T-pieces 20 for attaching auxiliary jaw pieces. A central guide member 9 is provided for the carrier 8. Hard steel shims (18) (Fig. 3, not shown) are provided between the jaws 14 and the body 6 and allow the body to be made from cast iron. The chuck may be actuated by an electric device. |
