The appliance has a nozzle housing (3) arranged at a pool wall (1). Said housing contains two horizontal nozzles (4, 5) directed horizontally into the pool (2). In addition, a vertical bottom nozzle (16) is arranged at the pool bottom (22). The three nozzles are connected to a motor-driven pump (9) whose discharge port (12) is connected via a discharge line (14) to the nozzle housing (3). That branch (15) of the discharge line (14) which is connected to the bottom nozzle (16) emanates from the nozzle housing (3), there being arranged as a valve device at the nozzle housing a diverter slide (23) which can be actuated manually from the swimming pool (2) and via which the horizontal nozzles (4, 5) and/or the bottom nozzle (16) can optionally be supplied with pressurised water. The diverter slide (23) which can be actuated manually is simpler and less prone to faults than remote-controlled valves. <IMAGE>
