<p>The slurry consists of small solid particles in a liquid carrier. The flow of slurry along the pipe is maintained at a virtually constant rate and the intake of carrier liquid into the mixing tank is controlled to maintain the mixture at an almost constant level. The equipment is useful in mineral mining operations, partic. coal mining. It can be used to move the mineral from the work face to a collecting point outside the mine. The equipment can be placed near to the work face and moved along with the mining equipment in such a way that the material can be deposited directly into a grinder. This elimination of the manual handling of the material is particularly advantageous with the modern continuously working machines at the work face.</p> |
