In order to reduce the energy requirement and space requirement as well as the apparatus complexity without adversely affecting operational reliability, a proximity-sensing coil (16) is provided in the fuze, having a large number of turns in order to produce a signal by induction. A permanent-magnet core (18) is arranged in the interior of the proximity-sensing coil (16) in such a manner that its magnetic lines of force are at least partially closed again transversely by the proximity-sensing coil (16). An amplification and threshold-value circuit (22), which is connected to the proximity-sensing coil (16), is used for detecting a minimum value of the signal strength. The axis of the proximity-sensing coil (16) preferably coincides with the magnetic axis of the core (18). When the fuze is installed in a projectile or a rocket, this axis must be made to correspond with the rotation axis (20) of the projectile or of the rocket. <IMAGE>
