The computer-controlled telephone system with emergency call facility consists of a number of subscriber stations with associated identification unit to indicate the position of origin of the emergency call. Calls from other subscribers outside the computer controlled system are translated via additional emergency units. The received identification data is processed and compressed so that only a maximum of two inputs are required at the central control unit. A further control unit operating in conjunction with an interrogator allows additional subscriber data, e.g. name and address, to be displayed or printed out.
