The crown (2) is for retaining the shape of caps during transport and storage. It is made in a synthetic material that can be deformed but is sufficiently elastic to regain its shape after deformation. The crown is thin and has a base (3) corresponding in shape and size to the cap (5). This is surrounded by a wall (6) whose height corresponds to that of the sides of the cap. The wall is reinforced by ribs (10) of varying lengths, corresponding to the height of the cap. There is also a peripheral reinforcing rib (11) round the edge of the base.
