Naphtho (2,1 d) isothiazole useful as a nematocide - prepd. e.g. from (1)-chloro (2)-formyl naphthalene by reaction with sulphur and ammonia

Naphtho 2,1-d isothiazole of formula (I) is new: (I) is a menatocide useful against root gall and and cyst-forming nematodes and nematodes on the stems and leaves of plants. It is practically non-toxic to plants and is applied in usual formulations with liquid or solid carriers.
