Insulating feedthrough for transformer - has gas-tight seals preventing insulating gas entering transformer to cause corrosion

The insulating feedthrough, for a transformer, prevents insulating gas from penetrating in significant amounts (determined by the corrosion resulting from the dissociation of e.g. SF6 molecules) into the transformer or choke. A tube (31) is fitted to the upper side of the flange (14) of the housings cover (15). The tube is connected gas-tight to a closed current lead-off system. the space between tube and the upper insulating convering (13) is filled with an insulating gas above atmospheric pressure. Gas-tight connections with leakages of less than 10-8 torr per litre per second are situated between the flane and the upper insulating cover and between the latter and the feed through head (19).
