Filling C-shaped anchoring and reinforcing bars with polystyrene foam - to prevent intrusion of foreign matter whilst embedding in concrete

"C"-profiles, esp. concrete anchoring and reinforcing bars, are filled out with polystyrene foam by continuously conveying the bar(s) under a station of feedline adapted to the charge the concave surface of the bar with pre-expended polystyrene. The bar has a longitudinal gap or slot facing the feedline into which the polystyrene is continuously discharged. After the filling step, the bar is conveyed through a chamber where the polystyrene is treated with steam. Process is continuous.
