The pocket dispenser for powdered saccharin (1) has a case of rectangular cross-section with semi-circular ends. The saccharin storage section (4) is divided from the upper section (3) by a partition (2). The upper section (3) houses the actuating cap (5) which is held in the closed position by a spring (6). The saccharin storage section (4) is sealed by the filler cap (13) which can be removed for filling the dispenser. The filler cap (13) has a hole (14) which is closed by the conical end (16) of the rod (11) attached to the actuating cap (5). When the cap (5) is pressed downwards the collar (18) is brought into contact with the edge of the hole (14) allowing the saccharin trapped in the hole between collar (18) and cone (16) to be ejected.
