Wire-reinforced resilient plastic pneumatic pipe - with helical conductor strip for conducting away electrostatic charge

Pneumatic conveyor pipe is made of resilient plastic, opt. with a wire inlay, and has helically wound around it a conductor strip (2) which is earthed at its ends for conducting away any electrostatic charge. At intervals along the pipe (1) are suspension means, pref. straps (4) mounted on the conductor strip and electrically insulated from their mountings on the building side. Pref. the conductor strip is wound into a helix of i.d. less than the o.d. of the pipe, then the helices are compressed and, after fitting over the pipe, spread out again. The pipe cannot become buckled or elongated.
